Help Desk Specialist

AmeriServ is seeking to fill this position within the IT Division. Act as liaison between the client, IT staff and application administration to determine who has the expertise to handle outstanding problems. Maintain a reliable technology environment by responding to client calls and assisting them in resolving their problems or escalating the problem to the appropriate person. When required, assist with applying software patches to IT equipment in accordance with established change management practices. Maintain the appropriate software patch levels using the automated patch management system where applicable.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Information Systems or a high school graduate with experience in support of IT clients in a networked environment. Practical knowledge of mobile and desktop operating /application systems with an understanding of network topologies and operation systems is preferred.
